Major merits and advantages:

Super Therm® takes advantage of advanced multi-ceramic technology which inhibits overheating and insulates most surfaces while simultaneously protecting the treated material against condensation and corrosion.

  • Reduces heat load to 5% even before the heat begins permeating it.
  • Brings marked energy savings. The greatest energy savings – in some places up to 70% – are achieved in treatment of air-conditioned buildings in the summer months or all year long in warmer areas.
  • Protects against heat stress: Significantly reduces heat strain on treated material, at least doubling its lifespan and eliminating breakdown. Especially for asphalt hydro-insulation and metal roofs.
  • Protects against fire: In case of fire, it helps impede the spread of flame. A completely incombustible, fireproof material.
  • Withstands up to 180 °C temperatures without failure.
  • Protects manufacturing facilities and buildings, and the people within them, against overheating. Thus preventing heat prostration in the workplace.
  • Protects poultry against overheating, thus significantly reducing mortality and fundamentally increasing profitability and capacity.
  • Protects surfaces against corrosion and moistening and the growth of mildew.
  • Protects buildings against noise (as near an airport, for example). Repels up to 68% of noise.
  • Protects the environment, is not harmful to health and is approved for use in food preparation areas.
  • Provides long-term protection thanks to its approximately 25-year lifespan (in roofing use).
  • Reduces the “HEAT ISLAND EFFECT” in big cities caused by broiling rooftops, smog and insufficient greenery.
  • Helps in the battle against global warming, since saving energy is also a tool for reducing emissions.
  • Forms a protective covering which doesn’t overheat over time, remains cool all day long.
  • Keeps its thermoinsulative effect during its entire lifespan.

Properties and solutions:

Thermo-reflection and thermo-insulation:

Super Therm® blocks 95% of solar heat load while also blocking heat absorption and transfer.

Super Therm® provides the maximum thermoregulatory effect, increasing the whole structure’s temperature stability.

Super Therm® reduces the temperature of exterior building surfaces as well as interior temperatures.

Super Therm® markedly reduces costs for cooling and freezing.

Repeated testing at VTEC laboratories has confirmed its R-value (insulative factor) of R-19.

Super Therm® in insulating roofing topcoats against solar radiation, achieves better test results than batt insulation 20 cm thick (with an equal R-19 insulative factor). Super Therm® in comparison with batt insulation, does not heat up as a result of the long-term action of solar radiation, and its efficiency is truly not reduced by it.

The same thickness of the coating as in prior ASTM C236 tests showed constant blocking of solar heat, unaffected by changes in humidity and environment. In tests, Super Therm® coating was fundamentally more effective than batt insulation because it does not overheat over time unlike other insulation, and thanks to this its properties truly don’t change as a result of humidity.Note! Just 1.5% humidity absorbed from the environment reduces the insulating ability of batt insulation by up to 35%! The standard humidity in batt insulation (after installation) fluctuates around 8%. Most evaluations of insulative factors, however, are made under laboratory conditions of 0% or 1% humidity which never occur in real construction. There is, therefore, no other insulation with an R-19 rating that can compete with Super Therm® performance. Super Therm® coating should be used as a substitute for existing moisture-absorbing materials (batt, wool or foam types) especially in places where humidity of overheating destroys their insulating effect (such as flat unventilated roofs).

Thermal Conductivity reduction:

Super Therm® likewise reduces thermal conductivity (BTU). In testing at the Thermophysical Research laboratory, a metal sheet had a conductivity of 367.20 BTU. After treating with one layer of Super Therm® coating applied eight thousands of an inch thick, the conductivity was reduced to 3.99).

Protection against overheating (Super Therm® versus classical roofing insulation):

Super Therm® coating should be used first and foremost where it is not possible to create a ventilation space above the thermoinsulation layer by which heat could be vented from batting or foam insulation (flat roofs and sandwich panels). Because if the insulation is enclosed below a black asphalt cover or between two sheet-metal panels with no real ventilation, it will gradually heat up, causing it to lose its insulative ability. The principle of classical batt insulation lies in slowing down heat transfer by holding the heat within itself. But the heat absorption is always just temporary, since unvented heat will in the course of a short time reach 100% of the accumulation limit for the insulating layer, at which time it begins to overheat and leads to heat transfer through the insulation into the interior space. Moreover, an overheated ceiling emits its accumulated heat into the interior even through the night, also increasing the building’s energy demand. Overheating is the main problem of flat roofs and sandwich roofing panels. The most effective solution to this problem is supplemental insulation with Super Therm® ceramic coating.

Protection against heat stress:

A Super Therm® surface absorbs less solar radiation, thus reducing movement of the roof surface (heat stress) which is the underlying cause of most roof damage. SuperTherm, thanks to its maximal reflective performance, completely prevents heat stress, eliminates temperature fluctuations (expansion and contraction) and thus protects against material fatigue, extending the lifespan of the entire roof surface.

In the summer months, untreated surfaces experience extreme temperature fluctuations (from appx. 60 °C during daytime to 15 °C at night), as a result of which there is constant expansion and contraction of the material which causes it damage (tearing, expansion cracking and material fatigue). The most serious failures thus occur on large metal storage tanks and dark asphalt roofs. Super Therm® inhibits the transfer of thermal energy into the material it is applied to. Thermal stabilisation of the surface occurs which serves to reduce mechanical strain and wear and tear on the whole structure, extending its lifespan many times over.

Enviromental and health protection:

Super Therm® reduces the “HEAT ISLAND EFFECT” in big cities caused by broiling rooftops, smog and insufficient greenery. Car parks and black roofs heat up to extreme levels in the sun (up to 80 °C) and consequently give off this heat into the environment, which contributed to creating the greenhouse effect and fog. The result is oxygen-poor air, overall bad air quality and excessively elevated temperatures.

Super Therm® also reduces masonry dampness and blocks the formation of mosses and mildews that are harmful to health.

Super Therm® is safe for people, animals and the environment. It is water-based and contains no toxic additives, as it was also approved by the USDA for use in food preparation facilities.

Energy conversation and global warming:

Super Therm® has been registered as an ENERGY STAR product since it provides substantial energy savings. The greatest energy savings – in some places up to 70% – are achieved in treatment of air-conditioned buildings in the summer months or all year long in warmer areas.

Super Therm® also brings environmental benefits as, for example in the USA, most energy needed for cooling buildings is generated by burning fossil fuels, a process that releases considerable emissions into the atmosphere. Roofs with the coating applied considerably reduce energy needs, thus also reducing the amount of air pollution produced by electrical generation. In this way, Super Therm® indirectly helps in the fight against GLOBAL WARMING.

Economics, return on investment, profitability:

Super Therm® is a relatively inexpensive coating, thanks to its long lifespan of approximately 25 years. Using it can be considered an investment, since it isn’t necessary to reapply it every five years like with ordinary protective coatings. Moreover, it also extends the lifespan of the entire treated roof or other underlayer.

Return on investments:

An investment in Super Therm® coating quickly pays for itself by way of energy savings. The coating and its application are paid for within a short time. Cases are known from practice where expenses were made up for in just two years of use thanks to direct savings on electricity for building air conditioning.

Live stock profitability:

Super Therm® thanks to its ideal protection against overheating, reduces mortality and increases profitability for poultry- and cattle-rearing. It also increases profitability for hens by increasing capacity.

Protection against corrosion:

Super Therm® is tough against the rain. It blocks infiltration and passage of water and humidity. A proven and tested waterproofing, which is truly unaffected by moisture, unlike other insulation.

Gets rid of under-insulation crrosion:

One of Super Therm® coating’s big merits is that it also gets rid of problems arising due to under-insulation corrosion caused by condensation. With classic types of insulation, under-corrosion represents a multi-billion-dollar problem which destroys industrial infrastructure and causes downtime in manufacturing due to the need to conduct frequent repairs after failures of the underlying material.

Super Therm® is different in that after application it becomes a direct part of the surface and thus prevents any sort of under-insulation corrosion since it completely prevents the passage of moisture to the underlayer.

Super Therm® thus provides not just thermal protection but also corrosion protection, reducing maintenance requirements and prolonging the entire lifespan of a roofing system or other metallic surface.

Atmospheric and noise insulation properties:

Super Therm® prevents leakage of air and wind flows.

Super Therm® protects the treated surface against the effects of weather.

Super Therm® coating also showed in tests an exceptional ability to absorb and stop sound waves up to the 68% level, so it can also be used as a sound barrier in buildings.

Fireproofing properties:

Super Therm® inhibits the spread of flame. It is an incombustible material.

Super Therm® was tested at NASA for fire resistance and was found to be extremely effective. NASA Space Flight Center tests confirmed its “zero” surface combustibility and smoke emission.

Durability and Stability:

Super Therm® meets requirements for industrial use where high durability, colourfastness, water resistance, fire resistance, UV stability and sturdiness are demanded, while also remaining an elastic surface.

Super Therm® provides protection against corrosion and significantly reduces maintenance expenses as it prolongs normal surface lifespan by three to four times.

Super Therm® coating possesses unique mechanical properties which give the coating a lifespan of up to 25 years without forming capillary cracks at the surface.

Super Therm® thanks to these properties, comes with a guarantee period of 10 years, contractually provided by the manufacturer itself.

Other properties:

Super Therm® improves the aesthetic appearance of buildings with varying colouration.

Super Therm® is easy to apply with a brush, roller or spraying equipment.

Super Therm® can be applied to any surface without the need for a base colour.

Super Therm® has a low level of VOC.
